The Pentacles: The Path of Oneness

Happy Sunday in late-November, with winter stars & planets beginning to appear. Here are some of my current Tarot reflections, shining a spotlight on the suit of The Pentacles.
I love LA this time of year: shorter days that somehow feel less-stressful to me, dewy canyons that slowly grow greener with the morning rains. Interestingly enough, I find myself more tied to the journey of The Sun this time of year, waking when He rises, watching Him take his short journey across The Sky before dipping down behind the The Santa Monica Mountains. I see The Sun as the original Pentacle, source of all health and wealth on this Earth, and I connect my wellness to His.
Over the summer a series of questionable (yet understandable) decisions on my part left me in a place where my physical (& fiscal) well-being was not the best. My sciatica & depression increased while my bank account slowly depleted. In hindsight, I was relying on past sources of money-making and connection that weren't in alignment with my physical or spiritual body. My tender Animal Self, in service to my overall well-being, did what it does when it's not receiving the care and nourishment it deserves: it broke down (interesting to compare this to the phrase "I'm broke").
The Pentacle itself is a golden circle with a star on it: A Coin embossed with The Body. It is this combination/intersection that hints at the definition(s) of The Pentacle: our inherit oneness with energy and the earth. We use time and our healthy bodies to create wealth in this life. We use the resources of the earth to create our bodies. In the safety of this physical care, we can turn within and whisper spells of self-worth to our inner parts: "I love you, Little Ones. I am here to take care of you." Our interpersonal connections grow more abundant as well, as we build resources to share with those around us.
When our hearts open, we see through the heightened tear of love. We see sameness & oneness, Clouds becoming The Canyon becoming Us. The Pentacles ask for this opening within the star shape of the Pentagram: our body in ecstasy, our body in active alignment, our body grounding and charging. The current (currency) moves through us. It is in this that we see the parallel paths and interwoven circuitry of Energy, Money, Time, The Earth & our own Self-worth.
I was brought up Roman Catholic, and I can see the golden thread between The Pentacle and The Communion Host. When we first receive The Pentacle (The Ace of Pentacles) it is a heavenly idea that we must bring to earth/make manifest (consuming The Body of Christ). Through the journey of the suit of The Pentacles we learn to balance resources, build energy with others, suffer through hardships, and ask for help. With those teachings we can then become abundant and help others, moving into the court cards toward The Mother (The Queen) and The Father (The King) of Pentacles. Abundance abounds in our gardens and so Our Kingdoms begin to flourish.
This week I wonder what your Pentacles are? Maybe you have money but not a lot of time. Maybe your commitment to your physical health is the best ever, but you're avoiding looking at your bank account. Or maybe you feel balanced, all the points of your Pentacles attended-to and in alignment. I'm wishing you this feeling as we move towards celebrations of abundance and community. I'm wishing you this connection to all that you are and can be, and everything your open heart desires.
